Terms of use
Last updated 3 November 2026.
These terms apply when you use Ayahwise, whether with an account or as a guest in a family game. Please read them with our privacy policy and cookie policy.
1. Who we are
Ayahwise is run by Mohammad Umar, an individual based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). Contact: [email protected].
2. The service
Ayahwise is a free course for understanding the Arabic of the Quran, with lessons, reading practice, a daily quiz and family games. We may improve, change or pause parts of it. If we plan to close the service, we will give notice on the site first, so you have time to download your data.
3. Who can use it
- You must be 13 or older to create an account. If you are under 18, please check with a parent or carer first.
- Younger children can join a family game as a guest. The person who creates a family game is responsible for who they invite and for supervising younger players.
4. Your account
- Use your own email address and keep your password private. An account is for one person.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
5. Using Ayahwise fairly
Please do not:
- use offensive or hurtful names or behaviour in family games, or use someone else's name to mislead;
- try to get into other people's accounts or games, or test, disrupt or overload the service;
- use bots or scripts to access the service, or copy the course content in bulk;
- use the service for anything unlawful.
If you break these terms, we may remove you from a game, or suspend or close your account. Where it is appropriate we will tell you why.
6. Course content and sources
The Arabic text of the Quran comes from the Tanzil Project and is shown unchanged. Word analysis is from the Quranic Arabic Corpus, and verse translations (Saheeh International) come from the Quran Foundation. Each is used under its own terms, credited on our about page.
Our own lessons, exercises, notes, design and logo belong to us. You may use them for your own learning and share links to the site, but please do not copy or republish them without permission.
7. A learning aid, not a religious authority
Ayahwise teaches the language of the Quran. Translations convey meaning but are not the Quran itself, and the short “Did you know?” notes are summaries of classical commentaries written for learners. We work hard to keep everything accurate, but mistakes are possible. For religious guidance or rulings, please ask a qualified scholar.
Typed answers are marked automatically, and the marking can be wrong. You can always choose a different grade.
If you spot a mistake, please tell us at [email protected].
8. Our responsibility to you
We provide Ayahwise free of charge and aim to keep it available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for any business loss, because the service is for personal learning.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know on the site before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account at any time.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you have a problem, please contact us first and we will try to resolve it.
